PP&BILLKIN’s new movie is about the love between a ghost and a human
The red envelope by PP BILLKIN: a love story between ghost and human.
On 20th March, If you scroll on social media platforms you will see The Red envelope all over Thailand because it’s the release date. On 21st March, My brother and I went to the Major Cineplex to watch it. Being a big fan of PP and Billkin, this is their comeback as a couple after 4 years. Even though this time it’s not a drama but it’s a remake from Taiwan which is “Marry My Dead Body”.
The Red Envelope is a Thai movie that shows the audience a heartfelt story between a ghost and a human. The movie has two male main characters, which means BL type of movie. To begin, they start with a LGBTQ+ character who died because of a car crash while he was upset with his dad about rejection of his marriage with a man. After he died, his last wish was marriage so his grandmother asked a fortune teller to complete her grandchild’s dream. The red envelope became a symbol of fate and fortune to find his true love. The story starts with an interesting plot because another male character is a straight person who is attracted to women. The story also shows the society that some people work illegally and shows the negativity of doing bad things. They also added some Thai traditional things into the movie which can show the world about their culture through the movie.
My personal opinion about this movie is that it is a value movie to watch even though you’re not a person who loves to watch BL movies. Because there are so many things that they put to teach the audience about gender equality, working legally, real love and family life, and also the Chinese and Thai traditions. The most stand out of the movie is both of the main roles are professionally that can make the audience in with their acting skill.
